The action was carried out in the context of the program «Atacama Lab07», organized by INCUBO, Chile and EARTH WORK LAB, United States; which is constituted as a reflection on the landscape of northern Chile. Chilean and foreign artists, architects, designers, archaeologists and researchers participated in it.
After the construction of the intervention in the landscape, the artist asks the participants of the program to read aloud the following text: «Before I shot myself, I thought I was here more half here than whole. I always thought I was watching TV and not real life. People sometimes say that the things that happen in the movies are not real, but the truth is that what is not real are the things that happen in real life. Movies make things so strong and so real that the things that happen to you in reality are like watching them on TV: you don’t feel anything». Andy Warhol (1928-1987). The reading was done in Spanish and English, lasted about 5 minutes and was only photographed.
La acción fue realizada en el contexto del programa “Atacama Lab07”, organizado por INCUBO, Chile y EARTH WORK LAB, Estados Unidos; el cual se constituye como una reflexión respecto al paisaje del norte de Chile. En él participaron artistas, arquitectos, diseñadores, arqueólogos e investigadores chilenos y extranjeros.
Tras la construcción de la intervención en el paisaje, la artista solicita a los participantes del programa que lean en voz alta el siguiente texto : “Antes que me pegara un tiro, pensaba que estaba aquí más a medias que por entero. Siempre creí estar viendo la tele y no la vida real. La gente dice a veces que las cosas que pasan en el cine no son reales, pero lo cierto es que lo que no es real son las cosas que pasan en la vida real. Las películas hacen que las cosas sean tan fuertes y reales que las cosas que te ocurren en la realidad son como si las vieras en la tele: no sientes nada”. Andy Warhol (1928–1987). La lectura fue realizada en castellano e inglés, duró alrededor de 5 minutos y solo fue fotografiada.
