Performance developed at the Humberstone Saltpeter Works in the Atacama Desert, using a gray silk dress as the central element of the action.

The work explores the material and human memory of the saltpeter industry, Chile’s main economic activity between 1880 and 1930, and the living conditions of the desert workers’ communities.

The action took place inside the former “power house” of the saltpeter complex, a space historically used for electricity generation.

Performance realizada en la Oficina Salitrera Humberstone, en el desierto de Atacama, utilizando un vestido de seda gris como elemento central de la acción.

La obra aborda la memoria material y humana de la industria del salitre, principal actividad económica de Chile entre 1880 y 1930, y las condiciones de vida de las comunidades pampinas que habitaron el desierto.

La acción fue desarrollada en la antigua “Casa de Fuerza” de la oficina salitrera, espacio destinado históricamente a la generación de energía eléctrica.
